Shale S Sonkin

May 2, 1928 - June 8, 2020


Shale was the principal founder of Sonkin • Koberna. He practiced law in Cleveland for over fifty years, concentrating his practice in the areas of family law, personal injury and real estate. Shale represented individuals and families in all aspects of domestic relations law, including complex divorce proceedings, dissolutions, child custody proceedings and asset valuations. He also represented numerous businesses, and his advice and counsel helped many small companies grow into profitable, highly successful ventures.


To this day, the insights and vast legal background and experience Shale shared with us is constantly drawn upon by the lawyers practicing at Sonkin • Koberna. To date he remains the standard bearer and inspiration behind the Firm’s success.
